The manufacturers of war planes, ammo, uniforms and transportation vehicles, along with the numerous corporations with contracts to supply the ships and bases, will vehemently disagree. Worse yet: Ask the senior military officers, who received promotions based on ghost kills, if the meat grinder was all for naught. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Biggest worry in the 1950's was the rise of the Cold War. And the spread of communism. And as a result, far too many Americans later died in Vietnam for nothing. |
