Basically there's the issue of a jurisdiction like L.A. flaunting the national law of arresting and deporting illegal aliens. So the basic issue becomes its NOT OK TO VIOLATE NATIONAL LAW. Sanctuary cities and states are going up against the federal laws, in protecting and harboring illegals.
In L.A. local and state officials are in effect asserting: Stop enforcing immigration laws in California, or we will keep inciting violence. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Protests are legal in the US. When you try to shut them down using intimidation or excessive force, otherwise peaceful protesters will adopt the methods of the oppressors. Calling the National Guard made the situation worse. Bringing in the Marines will escalate and expand the protests. What's next? Total martial law? This is all completely unnecessary. Even in Kalifornia there must be normal laws on the books making this kind of destructive and extremely dangerous behavior illegal. All you need are governors and mayors who follow their sworn duty and these things can't occur. What's next? Since the governor and mayor are stifling all of the solutions already in place, something that works needs to be next. Apparently, the legal and correct solutions are not on the table, so some experimentation is required. There is a reason that martial law exists. It would probably have to be federal, because of the anti law and order state government. But, if imbeciles like the governor and mayor responsible for all of this force a final-option fix, so be it. This would not be the first time federal troops were deployed. |
