There's plenty of precedent for states violating federal law. Here in Washington State, for instance, there is a pot shop on every corner. If they can disregard any federal law, why not disregard all of them? I'd love to see these governors and mayors sued personally for their behavior and have to pay fines or do jail time personally. As it is now, they don't care how much of our tax money they waste trying to ensure they can suck more votes out of the lunatic fringe. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Basically there's the issue of a jurisdiction like L.A. flaunting the national law of arresting and deporting illegal aliens. So the basic issue becomes its NOT OK TO VIOLATE NATIONAL LAW. Sanctuary cities and states are going up against the federal laws, in protecting and harboring illegals. In L.A. local and state officials are in effect asserting: Stop enforcing immigration laws in California, or we will keep inciting violence.
