Thanks for that background info. regarding the Kent State shootings.   Your Good research is appreciated. Brings back memories of how law enforcement needs to be handled carefully.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Kent State, National Guard called in to settle down rioting students over Vietnam War.  The kids backed the Guards up against a fence on a small rise and were pelting them with rocks, bricks and bottles.  All of a sudden one of the Guardsmen fired his M-1 and then the rest of them cut loose.  There were 2 or 3 students killed and several wounded. A professor at the school made the comment during a TV interview that they should take one thing away from the tragedy....."Don't throw rocks at a man with a gun"
