Your assumptions about oil spills & oil drilling are wrong. Seem diversionary.
Also a whole slew of European evidence about the dangers to marine mammals have been ignored by NOAA. Those deaths are from wind turbines that have been logged operating experience for years. Lessons learned should be heeded. The Virginia plans for offshore wind turbines call for 176, which appears to be an excessively large project. And we'll be watching what Gov Youngkin's attitude is. The Shellenberger video refers to going out and taking decibel measurements, taken with state-of-the-art hydrophones, while the ocean bottom scanning sonar was occurring. Also taking logs of the increasingly frequent ship movements in those regions of activities. Yes, they've collected actual data, rather than making assumptions, or relying on averages in the literature. Folks can see that data process from the interview video, posted earlier in this thread. Or from this report: Click Here |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'd stick by the idea that the whales, dolphins and porpoises are well loved. Along with mom and apple pie. My mention of platitudes was your use of the mom and apple pie as a political tool in your opposition to offshore wind farms. I am not particularly in favor of the windmills but but can't resort to the platitudes and unproven claims. Of course, you probably do not object to offshore oil drilling and just accept the harm to wildlife due to oil spills down in the gulf as part of doing business. |
