We have been having three digit highs for the past week. Rain on and off. During the rain Katie found she needed a new roof. They had to put new ply wood on it because the other was rotted. They just got that finished.
Yes Kates allergies are doing better. Ryan is in Michigan again with the tornadoes they had and he may end up in Florida before he comes home. Eva started back to school on the 7th and Lexi started back Tue. of last week. Lexi wasn't as happy with school because they aren't letting have a much play time. I think she starts her dance class next weekend. They had to order her new tap shoes since her foot grew a size and a half since July. My colon check was fine. They found one small polyp that was benign. They want to do it again in five years. No Thank You. Did they schedule Damon's surgery yet? I hope he enjoys teaching. It sounds like you both are doing well. I just got my internet back. I've been with out since last Tue. morning. The fourth tech came this morning and I am finally back on line. Now I need to order my groceries. I'm going to try and get that yarn mailed this week. If nothing else goes wrong. Stay safe and love you Kyra |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Kyra, I have been trying to get this message to you several time but I would get sidetracked. How have you been? Hope you’re all well and the weather’s staying mild. How did your colonoscopy turn out? Ok I hope. How is Katie doing in her job? Does she like it there and I hope her allergies have settled down now. Hope Ryan is doing good and not out too much chasing storms. The girls should be back in school now andI know Eva is happy about that. Did you get the doll clothes done for Lexi for her birthday? I’m sure if you did they were very cute. We’ve have had quite the week. The tropical storm Hiliary was not at all what they expected here. We did get rain, hardly any wind here at home on Sunday in Santee. Of course there was some flooding along the San Diego river as usual when we get a lot of rain. My MIL got a lot of rain there in Pine Valley plus some wind but the worst of it was in the desert areas of Borrego, Palm Springs, Ocotillo and other areas there. Interstate 8 was closed going down the mountains because two huge boulders fell off the roadside hill and onto the highway. Don’t know if those have been removed yet or not. I’m sure they would do some research to see if the rest is stable and no more boulders will come down. They also had a 5.1 earthquake at Ojia on Sunday with lots of aftershocks of 3.1+. Guess it’s been a long time since that area has had an earthquake. It’s been weather all week but it’s supposed to heat up over the weekend and next week. Damon seems to be adjusting to retirement. He has his schedule of what house work gets done each day and now he’s getting ready for teaching the beginning guitar class at our church academy which starts next Tuesday. He’s got the YouTube page set up as well as ge the guitars all ready for the students. He’s doing two open mic’ to, one tomorrow night at a little coffeehouse in Alpine called The Well and again Saturday morning and I’ll be singing three songs with him. It’s a cute little place, great coffee as they roast their own coffee beans as well as make pastries, cookies and sandwiches. Work has settled down to boring but there’s enough work to do but not crazy right now. The new coworker has settled in fine and she’s a real kick, just what we neede. Rachelle, our boss, seems happy with her. I’m finally getting used to the Apap machine. still don’t like it but I can sleep ok with it now. Don’t know how Duck is doing with hers. Will send her a message to see how she’s doing. I’m starting the push to get my scarves done, get some more jewelry done and also some ornaments done for the first craft fair that’s in October. I’m hoping to get jewelry done on Labor Day since I’m off that day. Time for Beat Bobby Flay. Hope you have a good weekend. Love, Colleen |
