I've seen a report saying this unarmed 35 yr old woman was located within a group trying to force their way into the house chamber, but not at the front of that group. After a large part of the glass panel within that door was busted out, a guard inside fired, and the woman was hit in the neck. She bled profusely and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. A U.S. Capitol Police officer was placed on administrative leave, pending further investigation.
The unspoken questions remaining to be asked are: Was pulling the trigger justified in this situation ?? I don't have any idea what's the applicable officer training or guidelines in this situation. Should there be a shouted warning?? "Get away from this door or you'll be shot" How many times have we heard shouted warnings like --"put down the knife or I'll shoot" Etc. Will probably take months to hear such facts, AND we may never know. Or even, covering their behinds[?] |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: truth is just so inconvenient As I understand the situation, a woman was shot to death as she attempted to gain entrance to the Capital Building. Rather than being shot on sight at the scene of the crime, she should have been arrested and booked. As I understand the situation, a few months ago, in Portland OR, men were arrested for lobbing Molotov Cocktails, at police headquarters, with the intent to raise the building and kill all occupants. Rather than being bailed out the very next day by Friends of President-elect Harris, they should have been shot on sight at the scene of the crime. "I'm President-elect Harris, and I disagree with this message." |
