You're of course entitled to believe any reports you chose. Sources I've seen indicate that your story has several fake components, putting the whole thing in doubt. Those chants were allegedly heard by The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg -- both he & his publication, The Atlantic, have been called unreliable. And the so called supporting video showed no mouths moving while the audio had chanting that could be heard --Thus raising doubts. Also, No major news sources have reported that same story.
You'll perhaps call this an excuse: -- For several hours we were seeing hundreds of peaceable folks on the Capitol steps and on the adjacent balconies just waiving their flags and banners, and thousands more lining the streets and walkways. No streams of folks rushing to enter the Capitol. Visual display of calm being practiced. The latest arrest figure I've heard is 53 people. Their could be more arrests, as facial recognition is part of the ongoing investigations. Bottom line --seems a relatively few number of bad apples were inside causing the troubles, compared with the thousands peacefully waving their flags and banners. You may recall that about 300 Dems supporters were arrested at the Capitol a couple years ago for raising a ruckus about the Kavanaugh confirmation process. I'm skeptical there will be that many arrests this time. We're definitely favoring prosecuting those who forced their way into the building, breaking windows and doors. Also any who committed any assaults or vandalism inside or outside. Seems I'll need to differ with the idea that any further massive prosecutions are warranted. |

And in fact had built a noose. . Click Here And yet he will likely pardon the man who incited the crowd on. Pure madness. It is a pure miracle that dozens or more were not killed. It was likely only a matter of minutes had the members of congress had not been able to get to safer locations. The capital police did what they could but were overwhelmed by force (and for the most part chose not to respond with force) From all my information and the videos I saw...we all should be thankful that this did not turn out to be far more tragic. It was that close. Of course, all these people could have just been Antifa in disguise. Nonsense. you can try to "splain" it away, but damn, truth is just so inconvenient |
