You likely know that the Dems in 2016 were all arguing just the opposite ways from the ways they're arguing in 2020. I'd not clutter these pages with all those quotes.
February 2016 vs September 2020? Does that mean anything? Plus Garland was a moderate with respect on both sides of the aisle. Trump is hand picking an extreme conservative that will be loyal to him should Biden win and he wants to contest the election through the SCOTUS. Loyally is a big thing with Trump...he doesn't want anyone to tell him when he is wrong...even if he is. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Nate You likely know that the Dems in 2016 were all arguing just the opposite ways from the ways they're arguing in 2020. I'd not clutter these pages with all those quotes. And all those arguments won't advance either side of this issue. A Mexican stand off, to be quoting Mitch & Lindsey, NOR Chuck Schumer and all his allies. Look at this analysis to see what's the differing conditions between 2016 & 2020 Click Here Its conclusion: "There was, in that sense, nothing unusual about the Republican Senate’s refusal to vote on Garland’s nomination; just as there is nothing unusual about a Senate immediately voting on and confirming a President’s Supreme Court nominee when both the President and the Senate majority belong to the same party. . .This is the accepted norm in American politics and has been almost since the dawn of America itself."
