Nate You likely know that the Dems in 2016 were all arguing just the opposite ways from the ways they're arguing in 2020. I'd not clutter these pages with all those quotes.
And all those arguments won't advance either side of this issue. A Mexican stand off, to be quoting Mitch & Lindsey, NOR Chuck Schumer and all his allies.
