Well, Tom, they said then that it would be relevant in 2020. So they are either hypocrites, or outright liars.
They have the power now and the want to take advantage of it before they loose it (and the will loose it.) Pack the Supremes. If Trump looses, then he can contest it and his Supremes will rule in his favor. And they will try to abolish the ACA. McConnell has been trying to do that since it was established. Dozens of lawsuits at the taxpayers expense. ACA is flawed because it was extremely difficult to get ANYTHING passed, but have the GOPs ever introduced anything that is better to replace it? And the list goes on... |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Nope. All those quotes from Mitch, from Lindsey and whoever in 2016 are relevant to conditions where the Senate's political party differs from the President's party. And very parallel with historic precedents under those conditions. Differs from current conditions where the political parties are the same, between the Prez & the Senate, like this yr. |
