In case you have not noticed, your shore home is served by an Electric Cooperative.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Up in Bradford County, PA some farms didn't get power until the early-mid 40's.  Our power is still supplied by a REC (Rural Electric Cooperative) and we are all "shareholders" who have the dividends applied as credits to our bills about once a year.  The service is very reliable and even after a bad storm or two feet  of snow the crews get the power restored quickly, can praise them enough.
