In 2018, California wind projects generated 14,078 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity – 7.2% of all power generated within California. In 2018, out-of-state wind projects generated 18,633 GWh of electricity for California, representing 21% of total power imports. Combined, wind projects supplied over 11.5% of California’s total system power, more than enough to power all homes in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles Counties combined.
Renewable resources, including hydropower and small-scale (less than 1-megawatt), customer-sited solar photovoltaics (PV), supplied almost half of California's in-state electricity generation in 2018. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: PETA filed a law suit. They claim the thing should be categorized "Attractive Nuisance" in that our community of Purple Martins is experiencing an inordinate number of concussions. Bob Very cute But anyhow its not killing the large raptor kinds of birds which the "windmills" are. Nor helping create the California blackouts. Have you followed the debate of windmills off the coast of Ocean City??? City Council asserts that they were excluded from the information loop on some negotiations. |
