I am very happy to see groups like this press back. As to my previous comment, I understand that the forum is intended to present varying opinions, and I don't blame Joe for wanting to ensure that. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Forums like this are intended to present varying opinions. So debate is to be expected. That's life. We can both recall when "Save the Whales" was a popular slogan. Now seems a blind spot for govt type followers. Folks in some Atlantic coastal states, other than Maryland have been much more vocal in objecting to those offshore windmills. NJ and New England states have been active with rallies, etc. They were urging the delay or cancellation of the offshore projects to allow more studies of adverse effects on the whales. One organization called Fisheries Liaison at Seabreeze has filed a lawsuit urging more considered reviews, rather than just pushing ahead with blinders on. Another group, Defend Brigantine Beach, says these projects have been wrecklessly & irresponsibly rushed and pushed. They described the problem how the whales rely on their hearing to navigate. When there's constant pinging from the underwater sonar in these projects, it causes hearing loss to the whales & disorientation. Its overriding their ability to stay clear of being struck by ship traffic, and ultimately beaching and dying of the whales. These groupshave also held a benefit concerts, flags & posters spreading their message. Here's an 8 min video: |
