Land subsidence on Delmarva has been discussed by scientists for perhaps half a century (or more) earlier than waters rising due to climate effects. Yet both are contributing to ghost forests. But their rates are very slow, so many folks are unaware, or are not worried.

Some farmers are adopting salt water resistant soybean crops. And there are some salt tolerant trees.
