For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Now by 2025 the Atlantic Ocean current is supposed to change threatening . . . Scientists observing the North Atlantic currents have for a few years been noting a slowing of the northward current which brings warmer waters from the tropics, along the US eastern coast all the way to Nova Scotia, before cooling and sinking deeper and moving southward along the European coast. They predict if this current signicantly slows or stops there would be: "faster sea-level rise. Northern Europe could experience stormier winters, while the Sahel in Africa and the monsoon regions of Asia would most likely get less rain." Yet the NY Times report admits great uncertainties in these studies. A quote "produced a wide range of predictions for how the currents might behave in the coming decades, in part because the mix of factors that shape them is so complex" The Times also reported much uncertainty about when it may occur: "the Atlantic circulation could collapse around midcentury, though it could potentially occur as soon as 2025 and as late as 2095." from NY Times Click Here Other reports focused on the worst case situation, headlining the 2025 date in reports issued that same couple days by NPR, CNN, Washington Post, USA Today & Business Insider. The NY Times headline was: Warming Could Push the Atlantic Past a ‘Tipping Point’ This Century. BUT among the more alarming headlines was Business insider: Climate change is killing off a vital ocean current system and it could spark permanent droughts and extreme winters, scientists say And the variety of others bending the reports towards alarmism. Recall how often the warming advocates have failed in their predictions. Totally undermining public trust when the alarmists are telling their future expectations. How often do conservatives agree with the NY Times? Interesting. |
