You'll perhaps recall in the 1970's when lots of climate gurus were predicting a new ice age was coming, and the world should be preparing for it. Data at that time indicated declining temps, even colder than prior decades had seen. Here's a couple magazine covers, reporting on what some "experts" were then predicting.
Seems there's been plenty of natural swings of temps over the eons. No need to kill all those accused witches during the little ice age, nor blame them for food shortages and declining crops.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Purely anecdotal, but as a child I lived on Seneca Creek off the upper Chesapeake. Ice skating snd ice fishing every winter. always news of icebreakers in the upper bay. No substantial ice for decades. |
