A great message Ed. Many Americans likely feel that same way.
Here's some further comments I saw today. Can you guess who's saying this?? Hint: the same basic story was covered on NBC, Real Clear Politics, Newsmax, etc. with slightly differing texts. "In classrooms across the nation, students are being subjected to a new curriculum designed to brainwash them with the ridiculous left-wing dogma known as 'critical race theory. The key fact about this twisted doctrine is that it is completely antithetical to everything that normal Americans of any color would wish to teach their children." " progressives have moved away from the beautiful dream of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. — that our children should 'not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.' Instead, the left is preaching that judging people by the color of their skin is actually a good idea" . . . the Biden administration recently endorsed a rule, published in the Federal Register, aimed at inflicting a critical race theory-inspired curriculum on schoolchildren. And your guess who mentioned those things is . . . . . |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I was affiliated with the United Negro College Fund for over four years. First, as their banker and then as an officer of the Fund. The director and I had many conversations about various racial problems. One thought he expressed has lived with me. "People often confuse 'race' with 'class'. "there are many black folks that I wouldn't want living next to me as, I am sure, there are many white folks you wouldn't want living next to you." Words to live by. BTW, his predecessor as director of the fund was Vernon Jordan, later to become famous as president of the National Urban League and, later still, a board member of numerous corporations. And of course, later still, a famous FOB Clinton. He was our guest at several lunches at Chase during those early years and was a fascinating guy. There would have been the ideal next door neighbor !! |
