I've spent the last four years trying to converse with my Never Trump friends and my Always Trump friends. I think I"m seeing the end of that tunnel.
"The Trump administration has done some great things for the country" "Are you nuts??? "He's a bigot and a womanizer and a liar!!!" "Trump has got to change the way he's dealing with his Bully Pulpit. He's making enemies where he needs friends." "Are you nuts??? He's done great things for this country and the great number of people who turn out for his rallies prove he'll be reelected" I long since have given up about talking about Trump and his failings on this Forum because the replies I have often gotten including from the moderator are, if what you say is true, how come he's so popular? I had hoped against hope (and personal past experience) that Donald would change and grow into the job. He didn't. Six months into the job, I figured him for a one term president. First clue?? He didn't fire Comey the first day in his presidency. The guy was a snake, proven over the last six months leading up to the election by his flip/flop on Clinton. The dems couldn't have said a word. They might have even applauded. Trump thought that the force of his magnetic personality could win over the HEAD OF THE FBI !! In the end, it got him impeached. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: He did a lot of the things he promised in spite of the Democrats in the house refusing to budge on anything. With that being said (I voted for him again this year) I think a LOT of people are fed up with his nonstop tweeting and school yard name calling / bullying. He needed to provide leadership in the pandemic, instead he blamed everybody that didn't go along with his crackpot ideas and turned on anybody that even suggested he step back and allow the professionals to run the show. He truly is his own worst enemy! |
