Recall that Gore quickly withdrew his concession, calling back the same evening, to retract his concession when the race unexpectedly tightened up.
Gotta start the clean up of the U.S. election process sometime, some where. Seems like no better time than now when there's so many examples of malfeasance and malpractice. Kinda a weak idea to imply -- if you ca'nt solve it totally, then don't bother to do anything about protecting/ improving election validity |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'd suggest that Trump can't concede, if he has any hope of cleaning up the U.S. election processes. Gore conceded to Bush and it sure did not prohibit him from later going to court. Can some instances of irregularities be found? I would presume so, as would typically be the case in any election. Will those impact the election results? Extremely doubtful. Trump should concede. Any fraud or other issues can still be addressed by the states or the Attorney General as crimes. And finally, if you really think that Trump (or anyone) can clean up all "U.S. election processes," then you are living in a dream world. |
