I have no problem with that type of arrest. The suspect should appear before a judge within a reasonable period of time to set bail and court date.
I do have a problem with officers rounding up people at Home Depots looking for work. And today, ICE officers were filmed chasing pickers across a strawberry field near Oxnard, CA. These are not thugs, murderers, rapists, that are supposed to be the targets of these raids. What do you think would happen to the agriculture industry in this country if all undocumented immigrants were removed? At least 50 migrants sent to El Salvador prison entered US legally, Cato Institute finds And this... Undocumented Immigrants and Trump President Trump's relationship with undocumented immigrants employed by his organization has been a subject of controversy. In 2019, reports surfaced that dozens of undocumented immigrants had worked at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., and other Trump properties, including resorts in Philadelphia, Westchester County, N.Y., and Jupiter, Fla.. Additionally, there were reports that more than 100 undocumented immigrants worked at the Trump resort in Bedminster during its construction phase, with some workers claiming that at one time over 100 workers without legal status were employed at the resort. Historically, during the construction of Trump Tower in the 1980s, undocumented workers were also employed, with some working 12-hour shifts, seven days a week, and not always receiving the promised wages. However, a federal judge noted that a Trump employee overseeing the demolition was aware of the undocumented workers' existence during the Trump Tower construction

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yes, from what I'm seeing, there's now arrangements/requirements for some levels of due process. For example, when a cop witnesses some violations of law, he can do an arrest on the spot, in the field. And that's whether the suspect is a citizen or an illegal immigrant -- makes no difference. Don't always need a court issued arrest warrant for a valid arrest. Yet media glosses over such kinds of variations. Seems its a developing area to be watched. |
