I sure agree with that--but. The career bureaucrats tend to be fired and new bureaucrats appointed to replace them as new administrations take over every four to eight years. It's always been that way. And these alphabet soup agencies all tend to operate based on the input from the heads of their agencies, who in turn dictate according to the wishes of the current administration.
Am I missing something? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I agree with term limits but unless there's a way to term limit the agency bureaucrats (which will NEVER happen) the animals will be permanently in charge of the zoo. I can't trust politicians to be smart enough to seamlessly hand off investigations and downsizing plans to successors. Let's face it, the best and the brightest do not apply for government service much any more. |
