I'm definitely not in favor of shutting down fossil fuel energy plants in favor of inefficient wind or solar. As I've said before, that is just foolhardy. Anyone who thinks we can count on wind or solar exclusively is fooling themselves, and should not be listened to. (I actually think we should eliminate wind and solar altogether, but if private persons want to use it, that's fine. I just don't like governments mandating it).
I've recently been looking into how we have essentially solved earlier problems of how to deal with spent atomic fuel cells, and am now more convinced than ever that atomic energy is the energy we should be using more and more. Clean, and safe. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: seems climate changes happen regularly, with average temps going up and also going down over time. Folks in Texas are painfully aware of the fact that February 2021 had record setting low temperatures. By placing too much reliance on wind power, and also not properly maintaining their fossil fueled power plants, power outages occurred along with significant numbers of deaths. Report titled: US had its coldest February in more than 30 years, NOAA reports Click Here Early reports put the Texas deaths at about 10 or 20, but later studies claimed there were 150 to more than 200 deaths and even estimates as high as 700 deaths. Click Here Mr. Biden needs to be careful and avoid shutting down the fossil fueled plants, if the nation expects to avoid repeating these same problems. We all recognize that the sun doesn't always shine, nor the wind blow. And those wind turbine blades can freeze up under cold weather conditions, when the power is dearly needed to sustain life. YES I believe its possible that more people are going to die if the Biden policies close many fossil fueled power plants. Hand writing is on the wall. |
