I met my beloved wife singing in a choir. And we both loved all kinds of music: classical, religious, Elvis, Beatles, Pat Boone. She especially loved the Everly brothers. Elvis had a wide variety -- quiet or jazzy themes, & some religious. Even some imitating opera like O so-le mio [Its now or never]

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Tom, For me, a 50s kid, the true Elvis Presley disappeared after his stint in the Army. His 'B' movies and Vegas shows did nothing for me. I dated a Pat Boone fan and married an Elvis fan (same girl) Back then you could not be both. The guys thought Elvis was 'cool' and the girls 'swooned' at Boone. |
