Who are the others carrying?
We can't expect to get an exact list of who was carrying, when they were carrying or not carrying or whether it was in the House chamber, or in their Capitol offices, or outside of those locations. You've called Andy Harris indecent for trying to carry a firearm into the house chamber. And I've differed because there's been so many others. And for more than 50 years its been a common practice, under the 1967 rules. As quoted in the message, you can see: "Rep. Thomas Massie said Friday he and several other members of Congress felt relieved they were carrying firearms when a mob of rioters overpowered police and stormed the Capitol " Also references in my message were about Repr Lauren Boebert. An obvious example. Other's admitting to owning and/or carrying from earlier sources include: Mo Brooks & Gary Palmer. Eight from GOP said they owned guns in the survey, six of whom who had a concealed weapons permits. Among Dems there's six who answered yes they owned guns in the survey -- Ron King, Gene Green, Tim Ryan, Ryan Peterson, Joe Manchin and Sanford Bishop . Also John Barrow, a Dem who received an "A+" from the NRA. Some congress members did not answer, or criticized the survey, so coverage was incomplete. Again we can't know where & when those guns were carried. Its only been recently the Nancy stopped lawmakers from skipping the metal detectors. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: When you wrote this: And there's an article titled: Four Freshmen Texas Congressmen Defend U.S. House Chamber With Capitol Police Click Here It sounded like you were saying that Harris ALSO carried a firearm. So, who were the others you were referring to that were ALSO carrying firearms? From Texas? ----- Speaking of Massie, have you seen his lovely Christmas card? Massie, wife, and children loaded to the hilt with weapons posing in front of their Christmas tree. I'm sure the parents of shooting victims enjoyed seeing that. So, if politicians should be allowed to carry weapons to work, I guess Massie wouldn't have a problem if everyone carried weapons to work. |
