After being told he was out-of-order, Harris headed down from his seat to confront Allred who had the floor and was speaking from the podium. The confrontation was averted when representatives blocked the aisles to prevent Harris from coming down. Harris was ejected from the floor.
I do not know why Harris would behave in this manner if not to physically prevent Allred from continuing to speak. ----- November election cheating??? NO PROOF IN COURT. Conspiracy Theories. Get over it. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Sorry Jim, but I'd need to differ. I'd suggest that folks shouldn't be mislead by media which sensationalized & distributed fake, slanted stories stories that Andy Harris tried -- to start a fight with a fellow representative -- [your words] Yes there were raised voices and Harris & a Dem Collin Allred were involved This was a dispute over whether remarks made by Rep. Conor Lamb (D-PA) should be struck from the record, and occurred in the early AM hours of Jan 7th, when feelings were running high. Yes there was some shouting, but no fight. Imagine, angry words in Congress. Weekly, Daily, sometimes Hourly [?] According to a Newsweek report, both the offices of Allred and Harris have issued statements indicating nothing physical happened, and there wasn't any scuffle. Click Here "Releasing a statement to The Dallas Morning News, Rep. Allred's office also said he was not involved in any scuffle. 'After seeing a disagreement between members verge on physical confrontation, Congressman Allred approached his colleagues on both sides of the aisle with the hopes of defusing the situation and bringing down tensions.' " Harris' office: "released a statement clarifying that Rep. Allred only stepped in to ease tensions. The Congressman said: 'Nothing physical ever happened, or was going to happen. Mr. Allred stepped in only to ease tensions at the end of a difficult day.' " Seems we're so often hearing about squabbles in Congress and strained feelings between the two sides. And can we recall many squabbles between Congress and Prez T. This same Newsweek report also recalls: "similar accounts of the lawmakers confronting each other in the aisle after a shouting match." Yet even recently, much public suspicion remains about the November election cheating. |
