Yes, in his final memo to America, Dole began with “As I make the final walk on my life’s journey, I do so without fear. Because I know that I will again not be walking alone, I know that God will be walking with me,” . . . Then he continued by joking about -- "seeing, like others who have gone before me, if I will still be able to vote in Chicago."
What a sense of humor. No matter if you admired his party or his politics, that quip earns Dole lots of credit. May he RIP. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I understand that Bob Dole, on his death bed, changed parties to become a Democrat. That way he could continue to vote ! |
