The post had nothing to do with local police or scams. Even the New York Times wrote that the fundraising activity referenced by Jim Mathews was not illegal. The original post was not about scams in general. It was about a specific fundraising effort to support Trump and Republicans. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Subject of this thread is: Be Careful When You Contribute Thus seems such comments were relevant. Occasionally the Ocean Pines Police have issued warnings about local scams. I've found these to be helpful. And we've occasionally phoned them offering comments about some emerging local scams that seemed to be starting. Helpful info exchanges about scams, are generally appreciated. Like your story of the poor guy hospitalized, yet victimized. Would not be a surprise if there was a go-fund-me to help that guy -- if his situation was nationally publicized. |
