The weather has improved. We have had 3 whole days without rain. It rained or poured for a week. It was dark and depressing during the day. The temps have been in the upper 70's and low 80's.
Eva is thrilled to be out for the summer. Katie the two girls and her mother and father left to go to the beach in Georgia. This will be Eva's second time and Lexi's first. Lexi announced that she was going to turn into a mermaid when she got in the ocean because it was magic. Rayan didn't get to go with them because his boss called the night before and he is on stand by. A huge storm is going to hit Quam. His storm chasing group may have to go to that one. I didn't know that they did storm chasing outside the US. Well Eva ended up with a silver meddle for her solo at the choir competition for the Clarksville school zone. She sang her solo and didn't use any sheet music and that gave her extra points. The she got another medal at a school competition. You would never know that she has had speech therapy since she started school. During the school competition they sang songs in three languages. This is the first year she has ever taken choir. So next year she is taking it again and she will be in the 7th grade. Lexi will still be in preschool next year. I hope Damon get's the Dr. he wants and sooner than later. What will Damon do to fill his time when he retires. He's always been busy with work so he will have to have something to do. It seems strange to have a nurse working in the court house. Did she leave nursing because of Covid? Katie is transferring from her job at the post hospital to a position with the VA clinic. She will be making more. She was a little upset when she found out the cannot wear scrubs any more. She has to wear business attire and shoes not her regular tennis shoes. So she had to go buy a new wardrobe. She was lucky and found three nice blazers at TJ max for $15 each. She also found several nice tops from $3 to $5 each. Didn't do as well with the new shoes. I think she is going to be a supervisor. Not sure about everything yet. I think she starts June 5th. This VA is a new one they have just built. She won't have to go on Post for this job. It is located near our reg. hosp. They had to slowly increase my blood pressure meds. when I first started taking them. It's better to go slowly. Hopefully this will take care of it. Interesting his and her sleep machines. I hope it helps. My best friend felt like a new person when she started using hers. Hope it works the same for you. When I was in the first grade we lived in Pine Valley. But we only lived there a year. I hope the motor home works out okay. I still have that yarn to send you and some ornament kits too. I will try and do that next week. Love You Kyra (the worry wort <G>)

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Kyra, We’re doing ok, going through a lot here. New washing machine works great so that’s good ??. New tires really make for a nice ride to and from work. Damon’s retiring at the end of this month. Earlier than expected but his left wrist is really hurting so he decided to go out earlier than he had planned. He can’t get a surgery date for the carpal tunnel release which he only wants the surgeon who put his wrist back together after his car accident in 2016 to do it since he did a special procedure and Damon doesn’t want someone else to mess with the wrist. Been try to get it the past six months and now he found out it might not happen till September. Biggest problem is his SS won’t start till the second week in July. Good thing is he won’t be spending $160+ a month on gas for the car and good thing I get my SS already to cover the gap till he gets his. Work’s been super busy. We’re trying to get all of the 2022 incident reports done by the end of June so there’s been some volunteer overtime which will come in handy. We’re also breaking in a new clerk. Fortunately she’s been fitting in and picking up the work fairly well. She was a nurse for 20 years so isn’t a novice when it comes to paperwork and computers. My Afib hasn’t settled down much yet after two months so I emailed my cardiologist and lo and behold he actually called me at work. He said to increase the dosage I have been taking to 4 pills a day, two in the morning and two at night. Plus I can take a fifth pill if needed. He said I was on a very low dose so I think it’s one of those kind of medicines that they work up to the level that takes care of the problem. Silly me, should have asked that question before. Both of us are having to use Apap machines for obstructive sleep apnea. Damon’s using his now and mine came last Thursday so I’m going to start trying it this Friday. We might be having to help Damon’s mom this summer as I think she’s selling her house in Pine Valley and then purchase a travel trailer and put it alongside our house for the summer months and then go back to AZ when it cools down in September. She’s got so much stuff that I hope she has someone come in for a sale. We have power, water and sewer for a trailer as the previous owners had a big motor home they parked there. Will be interesting! I have been in two crafts shows now, that first one I mentioned before I made back the $10 fee plus $4.75. The second one I made over $37.50 (no fee) mostly from my jewelry and one scarf. I think the next ones in October and December will do much better. I will make more jewelry and more scarves. Our weather has been cool, overcast and the usual May gray that we get. Love you and didn’t mean to worry you, |
