Kathryn Ruth “Kathy” Morgret of Tullahoma died on Sunday, July 8th, 2012 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma, at the age of 66. Kathy was a long-time member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma.

She was born Kathryn Ruth Fischer on October 10, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kathy attended Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati through 1962 and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle in 1963. She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Washington in 1970, and a law degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1977. She practiced law in Seattle, in Roundup, Montana, and in Hardin, Montana. Following the death of her first husband, Clarke Baylis, in 1988, Kathy retired from the practice of law, moved to Tullahoma and in 1990 married Charles Morgret.

An avid needlecrafter, in 1991 Kathy cofounded (with Susan Lazear) the Crafts Forum on CompuServe, a pioneering online community promoting collaboration and nurturing friendship among craft artists around the nation and the world ever since. With the help of a dedicated volunteer staff, she actively managed the Crafts Forum (now hosted on ForumsAmerica) until 2009.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Lueders. She is survived by her beloved husband Charles “Chuck” Morgret of Tullahoma, father Henry Fischer of Poulsbo, WA, sister Peggy Kent of Poulsbo, WA, sister Suzanne Reynolds and her husband Dennis of Port Townsend, WA, mother-in-law Violet Berrie of Everett, PA, sister-in-law Teryl Shryack and her husband Steve of Worland, WY, brother-in-law Victor Kreider Morgret and his wife Michelle of Annville, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
