One point regarding China is that they ought *never* be underestimated.
We used to take only Russia seriously as a potential military adversary, thinking they are the only ones. However, I am claiming China must be regarded as "bad ass" if you will pardon that expression. I believe they compete on jet fighter technology, spaceflight technology, anti-missile technology and even quantum computing technology. I believe it is hard to locate any area in which the Chinese do NOT stack up well agaisnt everyone else. I think that it would be a mistake to look at the Chinese as simply a "scaled up version of North Korea" i.e., a backward country which happens by chance to hold in its hands a few dangerous weapons. Am I saying that the Chinese are today essentially what the Russians were in the 1960's through 1980's? That is pretty much my claim. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thanks Bob No problemo.. Dream sequence... Minutes from the Annual meeting of the CCP Chowping: "oy vey! I got in my hands a report saying the Americans are years ahead of us on military superiority. I need answers!" Sum-Yung-Gay-Gi: "Devine One, I recommend we turn the management of our industries over to non-party men; hire American companies that specialize in developing innocuous corporate names for foreign state-owned entities; partner with American companies with the goal of getting our 'pseudo-capitalist' enterprises listed on their exchanges... think of it, Oh One Who Knows All That There Is To Know: The childlike Americans will fund their own demise! Tell me THAT ain't precious. : ) In addition, establish relationships with Congressional committee chairs and retired Army Generals (of course this means container ships with crates of envelops, forklifts and $20s); purchase as much of America's debt as is feasible, and, to ensure Trump is not re-elected, pray to Lucifer that the virus, the American Army introduced to the planet, has diminished the ability of the American voter to think rationally." Chowping: "Sounds like a plan! Hey! wait a minute... I got one: Sounds like Capitalism, ha ha, I got more: Sounds like Democracy ha ha ha." |
