On Thursday evening, Prez Trump was the main attraction, and I'll make some comments in the morning. Among the shorter preliminary speeches here's an interesting one.
The widow of the retired police Capt. David Dorn, was among the early speakers. Ann Dorn spoke impressively about her husband's and the other killings during such protests. Very poignant comments. Her five minutes were fulled with emotions, and the viewers likely were filled with the same kinds of sadness that she experienced. “Violence and destruction are not legitimate forms of protest,” she said. “They do not safeguard Black lives. They destroy them.” |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Did folks see Madison Cawthorn, the paralized guy who's running for a House seat? Another fascinating story, where his speech called for Dems to act more responsibly. Click Here Cawthorn called to mind the dream of Martin Luther King Jr.-- for all Americans to be judged solely on their character. “National leaders on the left have normalized demagoguery and a radicalized identity politics that rejects MLK’s dream.” Cawthorn said that Republicans were committed to building a “new town square,” that “welcomes all ideas and people.” During his concluding remarks Cawthorn struggled to stand up on his wobbly legs. And that brought criticism from the left media. They claimed he was mocking protesters who kneel for the anthem or the pledge of allegiance -- yet Cawthorn had mentioned neither of those patriotic symbols. Viewers could see his leg braces, wheel chair, & walker as he stood up for concluding remarks. Has the media no respect for this paralized guy??? Tom |
