There's Ja'Ron Smith, a trump advisor on domestic policy. There's Ben Carson Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Both Black gentlemen in the administration. Then there was Alice Johnson, criminal justice reform advocate and former federal prisoner. All three were there speaking last evening.
And of course if the NYTimes is covering minority and diversity, why leave out Senator Tim Scott?? OR, Nikki Haley whose parents immigrated from India?? For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The NYT puts out a quick summary of what they believe to be the important news of the day, along with the daily recipe for you shut ins. Today, they said that the convention had one speaker from the WH who was the top ranking black official in the WH. I asked in an email if they had somehow disqualified Ben Carson from that category. No answer. Sloppy "journalism". |
