How can we believe both Mayor Karen Bass and messages here like the following: The protests last week in LA and the NO KING protests nationwide were mostly peaceful. The violence is still rolling along as we're now seeing reports of HSI vehicles being rammed by protestors. On Friday in Los Angeles suburbs of Maywood and Bell, cars were rammed, tires were slashed, and windows smashed. What should be quiet suburbs are now unsafe from the damaging protests Headlines: Violent mob rams Border Patrol, HSI vehicles in LA, attacks agents during ‘lawful operation’ Click Here Today in Bell and Maywood, CA, Border Patrol vehicles were violently targeted Click Here Wondering how many more weeks the turmoil will continue (?) |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The protests last week in LA and the NO KING protests nationwide were mostly peaceful. In the spirit of civil nonviolence, many protesters were voluntarily arrested. I do not condone the destruction of property or throwing objects at law enforcement. I think the LA police and Highway Patrol did a good job of containing the situation (to a tiny percentage of LA area) while showing constraint. |
