History tells us that many presidents have a number of times activated the military, and sent troops into various states. Thus folks should not become confused by media and Dem claims that Trump's actions for L.A. are unusual, or are illegal. Such false claims should be ignored.
NONE of you "examples" are analogous to the current protests happening in LA. And you know that. And, with the possible exception of the Civil War, no active military was deployed in any of your "examples." This is a show of force by Trump. A sign of things to come. A way for him to intimidate citizens and those who appose his policies. Trump has already stated that any protests related to his massive, wasteful ($150,000,000+) Kim Jung Un* style, birthday parade, will be met by extreme force. Does this sound like someone who wants to unite the country? No. It is someone who demands that all citizens march in lock-step with the project 2025 policies of the Heritage Foundation. And in LA, there is no riot. Protesters are voluntarily being arrested. This is what has long been known as non-violent civil disobedience (ala-MLK}. There are those who will use the opportunity be destructive, but those are a small minority and they are not part of the protest. * Apparently not the current Kim, but the father and grandfather... Since taking power in late 2011, Kim, the third generation of his family to rule North Korea, is believed to have established an absolute leadership similar to his predecessors. But his birthday has yet to be officially celebrated, unlike his late father Kim Jong Il and grandfather Kim Il Sung. Their birthdays are two of the North’s biggest holidays and are marked with great fanfare, loyalty campaigns and sometimes massive military parades. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: History tells us that many presidents have a number of times activated the military, and sent troops into various states. And the precedents have occurred under both major political parties in the White House. Such false media claims should be ignored. |
