Protests are legal in the US. When you try to shut them down using intimidation or excessive force, otherwise peaceful protesters will adopt the methods of the oppressors. Calling the National Guard made the situation worse. Bringing in the Marines will escalate and expand the protests. What's next? Total martial law? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Our opinions are opposites--no surprise there. The excuses being offered by Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass are violations of their oaths of office, namely to uphold law & order. Major gaffs by both. Use of marines is an indication of the practicality of forces rather close by to the riot events. Camp Pendleton is in the vicinity, and has available resources as well as personnel. Likely MP's, for example. In the two photos, their backgrounds are different, which is evidence of two events with two different police cruisers burning. Even one arson is too many. Shows advance planning & strong criminal intent to commit such major destruction of govt. equipment. |
