As a teenager I was an idiot, got tossed out of school in my junior year so I joined the Air Force. Long story short, I had a First Sergeant that got my head screwed on straight and when I got out I used my GI Bill to get a BS from Villanova and a MBA from Drexel University.
Full employment does not mean zero unemployment; it accounts for frictional unemployment (people transitioning between jobs) and structural unemployment (mismatches between skills and job requirements). |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I can recall examples, from years ago, where entering the army was thought to be a way of resolving some young men's unemployment woes. Yet I can't recall any percentage, like you've mentioned. But seems it's a reasonable idea that some percentage of job changing would be from natural turnover-- hence full employment. |
