Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa has focused on a $3 billion Biden fiasco involving EVs for the US post office.
Back in December news came that a 2022 authorization of $3 BILLION had produced only 93 postal trucks of the 3,000 trucks expected. The production problems were not reported previously, even during an inspector general audit of the Oshkosh company, designing & building those vehicles. Now Senator Ernst along with Repr. Michael Cloud of Texas are introducing a bill called the "Return to Sender Act" to terminate and claw back the $3 billion and to kill the project. Headlines: DOGE lawmakers look to defund Biden's anemic-paced $3B EV postal truck 'boondoggle' Click Here Ernst, Cloud Stamp Out EV Waste at Postal Service Click Here Ernst said: “Biden’s EV postal fleet is lost in the mail. The order needs to be canceled with the unspent money returned to sender, the taxpayers.” Cloud told Fox News that-- the Inflation Reduction Act continues to be proven to be a misnomer, and that it "funneled billions into a failed USPS EV project that has delivered nothing but delays, defective trucks, and skyrocketing costs." PS If you divide out $3 billion cost for 3,000 postal trucks, that's $1 million per truck. Extravagant for a postal delivery vehicle !!!!. |
