That's why there are the courts -- to resolve differences between experts' opposing views on both sides of issues. And there's also Congressional hearings where facts are put on the table by both sides of issues, to be reported and heard by the public.
When you've referred to NOAA's denials of harm to the whales, I've answered several times. Recall there's the evidence where US Navy ships have recorded incidents, like 16 whales found stranded on beaches in the Bahamas, after ships using the high-intensity sonar had passed by. Also recall that the research by the UK’s University of St Andrews has shown how damage to whales inner ears causes bleeding & disorientation, leading to colliding with ships and beaching deaths. There's now a new technology of providing a bubble curtain around the large steel pilings as they are being hammered into the sea bed to mitigate the damaging sound waves. Those steel pilings are huge, thus producing loud repetitive sound waves. ![]() The continual hammering sound typically exceeds 170 decibels, louder than a gunshot or jet plane accelerating off a runway. So its an acknowledgement of the potential harm to whales, dolphins & porpoises. And undermining the NOAA denials. Why would there be requirement to spend funds on the bubble curtain, if there's no potential harm?? There are facts to be weighed, information to be heard by the public. Also a court case is coming for the Virginia Beach project involving the endangered North Atlantic Right Whale |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have no interest in all this speculation about whales. Let me know when there is scientific proof from a responsible source. |
