I like DeSantis and I like his goals. I don't like that some conservatives criticize him as not having political spark, as if that is the most important thing a politician requires. Yes, one needs to be elected, but without ideas and goals, getting elected is meaningless. Sure, without the ability to get elected, great ideas can never come to fruition, so I can see some of the complaints, but I tend to listen to ideas and worry less about political spark, myself. Governor DeSantis has some very good ideas. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Here's a video of Gov Ron DeSantis introducing his new Energy Policy, last week in Midland Texas. Note there's a plaque on his podium spelling out one of the plan goals -- $2 gas in 2025. The DeSantis speech begins at the 5:30 marker of the video. Also here's reports about this new energy plan: Click Here Click Here And here are some details in the plan that meet my concerns: << Unleash oil and gas exploration and development, pipelines, and infrastructure << Elevate Evidence Over Ideology, Replace climate change ideology with American energy dominance goals << Greenlight oil, gas, coal, uranium, and critical mineral mining. Reduce our reliance on China for strategic minerals. << Focus on the most reliable energy sources at the cheapest cost << Defend our grid against blackouts << Repeal Biden rules targeting gas stoves, furnaces, and other appliances << Repeal Biden’s EV mandates and support Americans’ right to drive the cars they want Seems these steps would abolish some of Biden's greenie programs that are hurting Americans and that are strengthening our adversaries. And the other GOP candidates would do well to jump aboard those kinds of American Energy Independence efforts. Some candidates are already on board. BUT the Dem's and their mass media followers are likely to raise false objections |
