Here's a video of Gov Ron DeSantis introducing his new Energy Policy, last week in Midland Texas.
Note there's a plaque on his podium spelling out one of the plan goals -- $2 gas in 2025. The DeSantis speech begins at the 5:30 marker of the video. Also here's reports about this new energy plan: Click Here Click Here And here are some details in the plan that meet my concerns: << Unleash oil and gas exploration and development, pipelines, and infrastructure << Elevate Evidence Over Ideology, Replace climate change ideology with American energy dominance goals << Greenlight oil, gas, coal, uranium, and critical mineral mining. Reduce our reliance on China for strategic minerals. << Focus on the most reliable energy sources at the cheapest cost << Defend our grid against blackouts << Repeal Biden rules targeting gas stoves, furnaces, and other appliances << Repeal Biden’s EV mandates and support Americans’ right to drive the cars they want Seems these steps would abolish some of Biden's greenie programs that are hurting Americans and that are strengthening our adversaries. And the other GOP candidates would do well to jump aboard those kinds of American Energy Independence efforts. Some candidates are already on board. BUT the Dem's and their mass media followers are likely to raise false objections |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Kerry (& ALL) When I read reports of how some Dems are willing to tolerate having power blackouts I'm astounded. Yet when tropical storms and tornadoes are hitting seems that just about everybody is worried about how many folks are without electric service. I'm also amazed how the Dems are avoiding the issue of how rising power costs are squeezing the public, and driving the costs of so many other sectors Higher. Worst example is elec. vehicles high cost and the related mandates What a contrast !! Seems time those same Dems need to wake up to the fact that everybody needs reliable, affordable power. There needs to be recognition that by and large the masses of people will be hating policies which make electric energy less reliable and/or more costly, and which open the doors to more blackouts. But I'm not expecting Biden himself to change. He doesn't even realize what's going on, in many cases. The border for example Recall the freezing of wind turbines & lack of solar during a Texas cold snap a couple yrs ago. Recall the California power shortages. Recall wind & solar energy shortages and soaring costs elsewhere, including in Germany. All huge public concerns. BUT -- GOP candidates are recognizing its a huge issue for the people, filling their gas tanks and heating their homes. In contrast to the Dems, think how Ramaswamy in the earlier GOP debate mentioned that Biden's climate change agenda seems a hoax, in many ways. Just days ago, DeSantis has announced his six point energy policy, focused on restoring American energy dominance, drilling, pipelines & nuclear and calling for $2 gas. Doug Burgum's ads have emphasized energy independence, lowering prices, & all-of-the-above approach. Also Nikki Haley, & Tim Scott have spoke out. Conservative as well as liberal news media have noted how about all GOP candidates are loudly pushing to change Biden's energy restrictions and mandates. Even moving to totally opposite approaches, with no mandates and reversing restrictions. Examples include liberal publications like NY Times, Washington Post, Politico & NPR. Also conservative sources like Newsmax, Fox Business, Washington Examiner & Daily Caller. They've all reported on this energy issue, and the plans by GOP candidates to bring changes. Lets stay tuned in and stay hopeful. |
