Climate studies have been extended to cover centuries and even the temps over millions of years.
And some folks can recall in the 1990's the UN's climate predictors were being criticized for "hiding" some embarrassing facts. One such embarrassment was that the Medieval Warm period was preventing them claiming that current warmings were unprecedented. Discovery of private email conversations among the researchers were an astounding revelation that they were willing to falsely hide that warm period. That phrase from private email in 1995 was: “We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period.” And indeed subsequent UN reports avoided any mention of that very warm period. And this year's temps have been reported as below the Medieval ones. Here's a 5 min testimony before congress. An independent Professor Deming outlined his disapproval. And this began eroding trust in the UN group, along with other fudging found in the upset of confidence called Climategate. And there were other troubling emails found in Climategate, showing willingness to fudge their reports and charts |
