Doesn’t make sense. On one hand NOA enacts slow down speeds for boats off OC to protect whales and the greenie windmills are allowed to kill them. Unbelievable. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Dave Thanks for that info . I was able to retrieve this link to a WBOC-TV report of some more details. Report titled: US Wind Requests Authorization to Cover Possible Harm, Disturbance to Marine Mammals Click Here Quotes: "Harassment of marine mammals is further broken down into two levels, A and B. Level A covers any act of annoyance that has the potential to injure a marine mammal." "US Wind has proposed authorization for a total of 6 Fin whales, 9 common minke whales, and 6 Humpback whales under Level A for the duration of construction" " Level B refers to acts that have potential to disturb but not injure marine mammals." "Other animals -- include Sei whales, Bottlenose dolphins, long and short-finned pilot whales, and seals. The most significant number of animals in the proposed takes was 5,002 Bottlenose dolphins covered under Level B." MY COMMENT- Those level A injuries can likely lead to deaths. Land animals obtain their food mostly by sight and smell. Sea animals like whales, dolphins, etc.rely mostly on hearing and the wind project's pile driving can produce deafness and then followed by malnutrition & death. YES What an incredible request by US Wind. And multiply those injuries to sea creatures by about a dozen more offshore wind projects -- becomes an atrocious potential killing of sea life. Sounds like a SLAUGHTER house off the US east coast!! PS Seems the govt officials have omitted mentioning the endangered species, the North Atlantic Right whale. Recall that the Virginia wind project is about to be sued over [ptential effects of that species Click Here |
