My wife tends to just accept this stuff with a live-and-let-live approach. On the other hand, my thinking is that we all get used to various social changes over time, but we need to be eased into it. You can't expect people--especially us older people--to just start accepting movies on TV that feature two guys or two girls kissing--especially during prime time. It's not real life, and it shouldn't be rushed onto the TV screen. If and when society gets used to seeing people of the same sex kissing in public (I'm not looking forward to it, but it may eventually happen), then it can go on TV. But in the meantime, do we really need the Hallmark Channel shoving it in our faces before we have had any chance at all to get used to it? I really can't accept what amounts to preaching as entertainment. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My wife commented last evening about the ads and shows on TV these days. She said did I ever dream nonsense like this would be on TV? BTW, she used a word other than nonsense! |
