There is a YouTube channel that goes around the country and interviews kids on college campuses. You would not believe the level of ignorance on a wide range of topics displayed by these Gen Z'ers. Recently the question was what 911 was all about--most didn't know. When asked who attacked us, most didn't know. Most with an answer were guessing. Those defending their ignorance blamed not being taught it in schools.
Of course a lot of the routine things they are asked are just silly, like your example. Like what country is Oklahoma in? Most were not sure. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think part of the problem is the incredible stupidity of today's younger generation, mid to late 20's to be exact. Last night in Jessy Watters was asking young people what COUNTRIES bordered the U.S.A.? Number of stupid responses but the best one by far was....TEXAS & CALIFORNIA!!!! I weep for the future of my country. |
