That was a C17 out of Joint base McChord in Washington. By its markings, the majority of the crew was probably AF Reserve. The first of these were delivered to the AF in 1993 after a long controversy as to cost and production/design delays. Many politicians campaigned to have it scrapped as a boondoggle. 257 built. The workhorse of the airlift inventory. Range 2,760 miles, further with air refueling. 190,000 cargo capacity. Some boondoggle. | ||||||
