For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: "The government" will start with the police, who largely relate to the law-abiding gun owner and are not going to kick down doors to take guns from those who have not broken any "reasonable" laws in their minds. Then they'll turn to the National Guard, made up of ordinary citizens, mostly patriotic citizens who relate to their fellow citizen and have no love for politicians, again unlikely to enforce laws removing the guns many of which they also own. And when they turn to the regular military the results will likely be the same, as we have an all-volunteer military who serve because they want to serve. Are they going to turn on their fellow man? The politicians need to think this through, eh? |
