I'd agree. To be in Atlanta would have been great, especially for the Hank Aaron tributes.
Did you hear/see the ad, from a Georgia legislator? It ran during the All Star game, middle of the 8th inning. Was critical of swapping the location to Colorado. Critical of Politicizing baseball. Critical of Unfair economic impact on Atlanta -- revenues were lost, especially in the black community. He's saying again & again: "we were robbed." A report says the ad also ran during the Home Run Derby, but I missed seeing that one. Here's a link to that story. Click Here This link contains a 30 second video of the ad. The ad featured Melvin Everson, a black Republican state legislator and Baptist minister. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: As a Towson boy and an old Oriole fan myself, I too was very gratified to see Trey perform so well. Didn't notice the slogans on Alonso's bat . . . thanks for pointing that out. Only thing that might have made the show better would have been for it to be in Atlanta, where it should have been, and where the Hank Aaron tributes would have been so much more pertinent. |
