19 states plus the District of Columbia have recall provisions.  California has the easiest requirements. Some state legislatures recently could not successfully pass proposed recall statutes --  NY, Conn, West Va.  A majority of states have recall provisions for local jurisdictions.   School boards are among those which can be recalled.   Click Here 

You'll remember Gray Davis.  But he's an example of the few governors to actually be removed.  Appears Cuomo is safe from recall, but will be facing re-election in 2022. 

In California, Gavin Newsom is blaming those recall efforts on White supremacists, anti-Semites and people who are opposed to immigration.  He's had 2 Jewish wives, but is reported to be Catholic himself.
