Found a report of slavery and segregation history -- details I'd never before had heard. This report traces the many Dem efforts pushing back against Republican led de-segregation efforts. It covers the actions after the civil war and all the way up to the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1965. Also examines some parallels with the rise of Germany's anti-Jewish actions.

A great read for folks interested in history.

• every segregation law in the United States, from the 1880s to the 1950s was passed by a Democratic legislature, signed by a Democratic governor
• opposition to the civil rights act of 1964, the voting rights act of 1965, the fair housing bill of 1968 came mainly from the Democratic party

Seems very ironic that the Dem party is now finger pointing at the conservative side which historically led the fights against racism & segregation. Trying to say Repubs were complicit is fake news -- a total distortion. A false "blame game."  Assigning false guilt, like white privilege does.
